My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My foster writes:
Meet Blue, the charming senior cat with a heart full of gratitude! Although it may take some time to adjust to his new environment, Blue defies age with his playful spirit, especially during interactive playtime sessions. This sophisticated feline is all about the finer things in life, especially when it comes to fancy treats and delightful mealtimes. His quiet purrs as he eats and as you pet him are a testament to the contentment he finds in your company. Blue is a connoisseur of affection and enjoys being pet, always dictating the terms of his own feline charm. This wise and wonderful senior cat is looking for a safe and quiet haven to call home!

A volunteer writes:
Blue made great strides since his arrival at the care center! This handsome silvery gent was so stressed and "unavailable" for days. With the help of staff and volunteers, Blue's mood improved and unveiled what a sweet senior he truly is. He loves treats and fancy foods that stir him down from his snoozing spot. He leans for caresses, purrs softly, soft blinks and stretches his neck for scratches(see video). It feels good to be able to bring some warmth to his heart. Blue has not shown yet the playful skills related to us by his former owner but we are confident that we will get him there. Blue is known to be a shy kitty who needs time to warm up but once acquainted, is very affectionate, comforting and loving. He is a timid and sweet cat, a senior who would love to spend his golden years with a patient adopter understanding of and loving elderly pets. Will you be Blue's lucky star?

What my friends at ACC say about me:

I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets.

I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some feline body language together!

I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

I would do best in a home with only adult humans.

The staff think I would do best in a home where there are no other cats.

Because his previous owner reports he is friendly and affectionate in a home environment, we believe the behavior seen in the care center is shelter-specific and this cat would make a great pet, but is really struggling in the shelter environment. This cat is suitable for adopters with previous cat experience who are willing to work with a cat who needs time and patience to help him adjust to their new home.
