My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Midge is a 2 yr old FrenChiX, around 28 lbs, and the sweetest gremlin you'll ever meet! Ears for days, a smile full of teefs and a silly tongue ready for kisses! Midge is a former breeder mama from Mexico, and she is looking forward to snuggles for the rest of her days. Midge's nickname is "pepita" because she is a spunky little nugget. She has learned how to be on a leash and she loves her sidewalk adventures, but could use more training as she is curious about all the new and exciting things in the world around her. Everything is so exciting!
Midge is currently in foster with another dog, and cats. She has been great with all dogs that she has met - outside on walks and adoption events, and with her foster brother. She would do best in a home with lower energy dogs her size or smaller; as larger bouncy dogs can be a bit intimidating for this little gal. She is very curious with the cats, and will calmly interact with them, but she does not chase them.
Midge has almost mastered potty outside and will let you know when she needs an extra potty break. I think she might learn a doggy door pretty quick, she's so smart! She is trained to sleep in a crate at night and when no one is home. Midge has mastered the stairs, but lacks grace when using them - she's such a clown! Midge is a quiet gal, unless she wants your attention and then she sings a funny song - its a little off-key, but she is very enthusiastic. Midge is becoming a more confident and playful girl, and it is so great to see her personality coming out. She can be a bit bouncy when she is playing with you, and get a bit mouthy. She would do better with older kids that she wont knock over and who will be able to handle her spunky style of play.
We recently discovered that Midge understands basic commands in Spanish! So we've been working more on those and she is making great progress!
Truly, Midge is an all around easy dog who will capture your heart with her smile. Consider adding this nugget to your family, she'd love to give you some toothy kisses!

Go meet their pets

Over 75% of our dogs are in foster homes along the front range. The foster will get in touch to schedule meetings for their foster dog. Meetings will happen in/near their homes since that is where the dog is the most comfortable. We do want you to bring family members (human and dog) to the meeting! Dogs who are currently at our Windsor facility will have meetings there and a volunteer will reach out to schedule those meetings with you. Please be aware that we do not place our dogs on a first come, first served basis, but rather a best-fit placement. Never fear, applications are valid for a year so if the first dog you meet isn't a good fit, we will have plenty of time to find one that is.
