My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, everyone! This handsome red boy is Bruce. He is 22 months old and the sibling of Tina and Phillip.

After spending the last 9 mo. living in an outdoor run, he has been learning all about being an indoor dog and he is loving it!

When he came to us a bit over 2 weeks ago, he was basically a puppy in an adult body! He wasn’t potty trained, he jumped up on us constantly, was afraid of going through doorways and stairs were scary. He had a lot to learn! And he has done just that.

We have been amazed at what a quick learner he has been. He has picked up on all of the household routines, and his manners have improved immensely. There are still occasional lapses, but he continues to get better every day.

His requirements:

Kids – He will require a home with no small children as he is very fast and a flight risk around open doors. Small children don’t understand these risks for him. For his safety, children in the home must be age 12 and up.

Fence – A solid 6' physical fence will be required as he is quite agile and has figured out how to get over our shorter fence.

Resident Dogs – Bruce will require another dog in the home that is confident and a playful dog as he has a lot of energy and loves to play. We have four confident and active dogs, and Bruce figured out very quickly where he fit into our pack. He is appropriately submissive with our dogs, but not fearful.

Cats – No cats in his adoptive home as he has a great interest in small animals in our yard.

Bruce needs an adoptive home that has the energy to keep up with him and a willingness to attend a formal training class. He definitely has high energy times, but those seem to be brought on by excitement. He is excited first thing in the morning and after playing hard with the other dogs. He calms down quickly.

Bruce is a “true Golden”. He loves people and other dogs, loves attention, and wants to please his people.
