Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is Dean!
Intake date: 01/17/2024
Intake type: Stray
DOB: 01/17/2022
Gender: Male
Current weight: 50 lbs
Dean is a sweet but timid boy who is still learning to feel safe around people. Despite being slow to warm, it’s clear to shelter staff that he desperately wants love and affection. He gets excited to see his favorite people and tries to play, but gets quite nervous when pet or touched. He also gets nervous with fast movements and when people have objects in hand.
Dean doesn’t really know much about indoor life; he doesn’t seem familiar with toys or leashes. He walks well but he is quite scared of new things including other animals and people or loud noises. He is almost housetrained but he is learning to potty outside. He doesn’t seem to know many commands or have any training but he is a very sweet guy who just wants his people to be pleased with him. He would love a quiet and cozy place to decompress and understand human love and affection.
Dean seems to like other dogs and might feel more comfortable with another dog in the home to show him the ropes. He has not been cat-tested but can be upon request. Dean would do better in a home with older children (6+) only because young children tend to be loud and fast.
It’s quite stressful at the shelter for any dog, but Dean especially is having a hard time here at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting or even fostering Dean, please submit an application today!
