My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

CASTRO VALLEY, CA:  Garfield is a sweet 4-year-old kitty who, sadly, was abandoned at a pet-food store a couple of nights before Christmas.  While he is feeling somewhat bewildered and doesn’t understand what has happened to him, he is adjusting quickly.  Garfield is starting to trust people again, enjoys petting and cuddling, and is a "purr machine!"

Garfield is obese but has lost some weight on his controlled diet of quality weight-reduction food.  Ideally, Garfield would be fostered or adopted by someone who has prior experience helping overweight kitties.  He needs someone willing and able to watch that he eats only what will allow him to slowly and gradually lose the excess weight.  Training may be provided to a foster/adopter who has little or no experience with obese cats.

Garfield was born on approximately December 8, 2019.  He has been neutered, and will be microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations prior to being adopted.  He would do best in a quiet home with 1-2 adults and no children.

This is a Courtesy Post, and Garfield is with Angus & Friends Cat Rescue in Castro Valley, California. For more information, please text (preferred) or call Deborah MacDonald at 510-909-4961 or contact her via email at angusnfriends@outlook.com.

Angus & Friends is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit cat rescue organization in Alameda County, CA.  Visit their website at https://angusandfriendscatrescue.com/.

Please Note: This cat has not yet been tested for FIV/FeLV, to our knowledge. Potential adopters should confirm the cat’s status with the rescue group and should consult with their veterinarian for recommendations regarding testing.
