My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Miss Fluffykins! Miss Fluff is a quiet and sweet soul who enjoys quiet company. She has coexisted with cats before and prefers if the cats are quiet and independent like she is. Miss Fluff is very adoring to people and loves to curl up on an available lap, or follow you around, receiving occasional pets, before finding a place to take a nap. When she needs a little extra love, she might reach out to guide your hand to her head or whisper a meow. This sweetie is looking for a home where she has places to call her own, like a cat tree or a cozy bed by a window, and one where she can seek out affection from her favorite humans. If Miss Fluffykins sounds like the kitty for you, fill out an application online today at HSNEI.org!

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Northeast Iowa (HSNEI) is a 501(c)(3) humane society founded in 1995, in Decorah, Iowa, to help homeless companion animals in the five-county area of Northeast Iowa (Allamakee, Clayton, Fayette, Howard, and Winneshiek counties). Since our founding, we have offered numerous services including dog and cat rescue, fostering and adoption services, humane education, safety and family fun fairs, microchipping for pet identification, financial assistance in spaying/neutering and pet referral services.

Our rescue and adoption program provides temporary care at the Love & Friendship Adoption Center and in foster homes for unwanted and abandoned animals. We also provide a website to help in finding adoptive homes for these animals.

In 2013 the Spay/Neuter Assistance Program of Northeast Iowa (SNAP) joined HSNEI to become one organization working for animals in northeast Iowa.

HSNEI is a Best Friends Network Partner and a PetCo Foundation Partner.
