My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I'm Wally. I'm extremely bonded to Wyatt and I can't imagine my life without him! Our foster family says that we are thriving in our foster home. We love to take naps together and then snuggle up to our foster family at night to sleep! When I hear Wyatt purring I demand to get some of the love and get some head scratches too! I love playing with toys, a I have a couple of soft toys that are my favorites! I also love playing with my foster families feet, I have made it a game. I will run and then jump in the air before jumping on their feet. It makes them laugh! Someone asked our foster family what their favorite thing about us was and they said that we are so bonded! They said they have caught us walking together a couple times with our tails on each others backs.

More about this shelter

The South Suburban Humane Society (SSHS) incorporated in 1970 as a small group of volunteers who brought homeless pets into their homes and worked to find them permanent homes. From those humble origins, we grew to a 501c3 nonprofit organization operating a 19,000 square foot animal resource campus in Matteson, IL that takes in more than 4,000 pets annually, a Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic, a Low-Cost Veterinary Services Clinic, and a variety of far-reaching community services. The SSHS annually impacts 20,000 pets and the people who love them through these programs.
