My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am Pueblito. I am from Texas.

From her foster: Pueblito (Lido) is a sweet, lively, strong and smart girl. She's a Smooth Coated Fox Terrier mixed with a larger dog, such as a Pointer. She is about 50lbs. and is from Texas. She will greet you with licks and snuggles. She likes to sit next to you on the couch and put her head on your shoulder. When we got her she seemed thrilled to be inside a house.

She loves other dogs and is great friends with our Shepherd mix (also from the Bond Between). They play really well together. However, she is overwhelming our small dog because she is so strong. Other resident dogs her size would be best.
Crates are a new experience for her, but she is quickly learning to relax in hers. She is new to leashes but is better each time we walk her. She is cautious and a little fearful of men, but not aggressive and is quickly learning to trust. She easily allows you to take her chews or food away. Her bark is bigger than she is, she will let you know if strangers are near.
She is doing well with potty training, the trick is to get her outside regularly. In the morning she needs to be let outside immediately to avoid accidents. A fenced yard would be ideal to race off the zoomies. She will do best right now if one of her people can be home most of the day. In general she is very interested when you talk to her. She wants to please you and training her could be very rewarding. The changes she has made in one week are pretty amazing. She hasn't met anyone who hasn't commented how sweet she is.

Are you thinking about putting in an application for me but you're seeing that I may need some help with training? Not to worry! My adoption comes with training support because The Bond Between wants to help me and my forever family. They know that some dogs need some extra support after adoption and they are all about setting me up for success. You can ask to speak to a trainer if you'd like more information about it. The trainer will tell you that I am worth it!

Go meet their pets

The Bond Between's goal is to not keep any animals at our rescue office. The majority of our animals are living in foster homes until they are adopted. Occasionally, animals are living in our rescue office that are in need of a foster home.

If you would like to meet an animal at our office who needs a foster, please reach out to inofficeanimals@thebondbetween.org and fill out our foster interest form at https://www.thebondbetween.org/foster

More about this rescue

The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on the bond between humans and animals. We were founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds. Since then, we have rescued over 29,000 dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal wellbeing organization... now The Bond Between! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services.

We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.

You can help support us today by donating, fostering, volunteering, or sharing The Bond Between.
