My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tangerine, a young, playful soul with a heart full of energy. Her goofiness can make anyone's day brighter. She has a shy side that only makes her more endearing. She's always ready for a game, her boundless energy keeping her going for hours. But once playtime is over, Tangerine becomes the epitome of cuddly and gentle. She'll curl up beside you, purring contentedly as you pet her. Tangerine has a way of making you feel loved and cherished. Her funny antics are guaranteed to keep you entertained and her cuddles will provide comfort. Adopting Tangerine means bringing home a bundle of joy and love. Her companionship promises to fill your home with laughter, warmth, and endless love.

All our animals have age-appropriate vaccinations, and are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and tested for FIV/FelV prior to adoption. Adoption fees are as follows: kitten $150 ($200 for a pair), adult $100, senior/special needs $50.

More about this rescue

The idea for Kizzy's Place began after 4 animal advocates, who had been involved in cat rescue for a while, were inspired to combine efforts. Each wanted to help a cat named Kizzy, who was on the urgent list at a local shelter, but each realized that they could not help Kizzy alone. Kizzy needed immediate transportation from the shelter, funds for a vet visit, and an experienced foster home in which he could recuperate from URI, a tall order. So after talking about it communally, the advocates each handled a piece of the operation, resulting in a successful rescue effort! The new friends noted that rescue groups sometimes need a little extra help, like a foster, transporter, or private donor, to assist them in doing their noble work. Also, they recognized that individual animal rescuers sometimes need the wider reach of an organized rescue group to help get their adoptable animals noticed by potential adopters. This is what Kizzy’s Place provides, a network of friends to mutually assist each other!

We are a registered 501(c)3 non profit that matches homeless animals with their forever homes!
