My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Leonard McCoy
-The golden doodle with a golden heart-

Hi My name is Leonard and this is my story.
Things were really bad until someone found me and brought me to the hospital. Someone didn't feed me for a long time and left me laying in my own urine. I was so weak and hungry that I could barely lift my head. The nice people at the hospital got to work right away. One of them I met was my soon to be foster mom. While getting examined, she gave me her chicken nuggets! Food finally! She got excited when I was able to eat. I surprised her with some tail wags. It was then she knew I was a fighter. At a mere 10lbs I wouldn't have lasted another day. My fur was matted and painful. They got to work giving me a haircut and medicine. I was pretty stinky too but nobody seemed to mind.
My foster mom brought me home afterwards and laid me in a big comfy bed and I knew that I was going to be safe now. The called me Leonard McCoy after a guy with the nickname of "Bones" while watching something called Star Trek during my first night.
The next few weeks were tough but so am I. My tummy was upset alot while it learned how to work again. My muscles ached as I relearned how to walk. Little amounts of food every few hours turned to big meals 2-3 times a day overtime as my body slowly adjusted to working again.
After lots of rest and cudddles, (I love hugs) I started playing! I love toys and am eager to learn. I learned sit after only a few tries! I am definitely food motivated. After getting better, I don't potty in my crate anymore. I try my best not to potty in the house, but sometimes I get so happy to see people that I accidentally pee a little. I love playing with the dog friends at my foster house and the cats too. Although, my foster mom says I am too energetic for the kitties now. I'm probably best suited with a home with either no cats or tough ones. I'm good on a leash and ready for my next adventure. I'm now 40lbs and continue to build muscle every day. I have lots of energy and would love an active family and maybe a dog brother or sister that likes to play. I'm really good for all the grooming things I require too, from daily brushing to getting a haircut and claw trim. I'm a silly guy with a big personality and even bigger heart. Full of life and love to give, am I the right fit for you?
