Since we are 100% foster-based rescue, only approved applications will be reviewed and/or contacted. We do not allow shipping & do not transport. You must live within 350 miles from Maryville, IL & able to drive there for a meet & greet.
We are looking for a home for Jolene that will offer her lots of company. She now knows that having friends is one of the best things about this new life she's been offered.
Jolene is a great car rider. Automobile safety is important, so Jolene wears a harness that can be secured into a seatbelt lead. She loves to go on rides & sight see! Jolene will bolt out the door, we recommend that her new family have a plan in place to keep the front door secure, either with an xpen or baby gate. We have many families that do this to keep their pups safe, please ask us if you need help getting a plan in place.
Jolene is not very good on a leash yet. If you work with her, she will likely be pretty good after some practice. Jolene hasn't had much opportunity to enjoy outdoor weather, so we aren't sure if she plans to run around the yard much. But knowing that she won't leash walk right now, we must insist on a physically secure fence for her, as she will need to immediately start her outside potty routine. The only way to be successful with this is to have a secure contained area.
Jolene is 95% housetrained. Her foster mom has been very proud of her progress & says she is almost there! It is important to note that anytime there is a change in environment or schedule, you must give the dog a chance to be successful. A new routine that employs consistency & praise will help set them up for success.
Jolene is a loyal friend. She quickly took up with her foster mom & follows her around like a little shadow. She absolutely loves company! She loves children, adults, men, women, all her foster canine siblings. She is very much enjoying making friends.
