My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Thunder, a majestic and spirited boy whose heart is as big as his stature! At the tender age of 4, Thunder carries the joyful essence of puppyhood in his large frame, lighting up the lives of those around him with his exuberance and love for play.

Thunder is a quick learner, already acquainted with basic commands, showcasing his eagerness to please and intelligence. However, he's still perfecting his leash manners, which presents a wonderful opportunity for bonding through training. He's looking for a patient and loving guide who can lead him with consistency and positivity, helping him become the perfect walking companion.

But what truly makes Thunder's heart race? The sheer joy of playing fetch with a ball. Mention the word "ball," and you'll see his eyes light up with anticipation and excitement. He's an athlete at heart, reveling in the thrill of the chase and the satisfaction of a game well played. Whether it's a leisurely toss in the backyard or an energetic session at the park, Thunder is all in, ready to impress with his agility and zest.

While Thunder adores the company of humans and relishes every opportunity to play and interact, his playstyle with other dogs can be a bit boisterous. He tends to play with a rough and tumble approach, which means he would thrive best as the only dog in the home or possibly with a confident female companion who can match his playfulness without being overwhelmed. To ensure harmony in his future home, it's advised that he joins a family without cats or small dogs, where his boundless energy and size can be appreciated and managed with love.

Thunder dreams of a family that embraces his lively spirit and is ready to provide him with the space he needs to run, play, and express his joy for life. In return, Thunder promises a lifetime of loyalty, laughter, and countless adventures. If you're looking for a big, fun-loving boy to add excitement and unconditional love to your life, Thunder might just be your perfect storm.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process begins with the adopter filling out our online adoption application. Vet references are checked first, as we have a stringent policy requiring all current and past pets to have proper vetting provided. After the vet reference is complete, personal references are contacted, and a home visit is scheduled with the adopter. Finally, the adopter is invited to meet all of the dogs that might be a fit for their home.

Fees range from $200 to $400.

Go meet their pets

All appointments are scheduled between the adopter and one of our adoption counselors, after the application process is completed.

More about this rescue

Canine Pet Rescue Corp (CPR)
is dedicated to reconditioning wayward dogs, inparticular German Shepherd Dogs, with the end goal of placing them in a stable environment, which harbors positive behaviors from the dog. Many times, a dog will remain in our program for months, until the right environment is found. CPR believes that quality over rides quantity. We advocate responsible pet ownership and believe that education is key to providing wayward canines a strong and successful life. We believe that canines can be therapists, teachers, motivators, and friends and the love of the DOG carries us to the goal of rescuing, rehabilitating, and training these misplaced canines. We are a small group, made up of various rescue individuals that assume the responsibility of caring for, providing medical care, rehabilitating, and training misplaced or owner surrendered canines. Many of the dogs within the organization have been mishandled or placed in the wrong environment and are in desperate need of mental stimulation, training, and a proper structure in their lives.
