My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PJ is approximately 3 years old and about 65lb. He looks to be a Pointer/Hound Mix but we won't know for sure without DNA testing. PJ recently completed the neuter procedure and is up to date on all vaccines.

Even though he was picked up as a stray, PJ seems to know the command 'sit' and is very treat motivated in his training. His medium coat is super soft and he loves scratches under the chin and back. He also really loves to give hugs and kisses! He's a super playful boy and does well with kids and other dogs. He's not experienced cats yet. He just seems to be happy all of the time and wants to be around people so as to not miss a second at his second chance at a forever home.

We've recently learned how much PJ loves soft squeaky toys! Currently his favorite is a cute red lobster plushy that he loves to just hold in his mouth while receiving pets and scratches.

Our adoption process takes several steps and cannot be completed in one day. All of our volunteers work full time and assist the rescue in their spare time. Please allow 2-3 business days for a response.

* Applicants must be willing to make a ten plus year commitment to their new family member.

* Applicants must commit to daily exercise, walks, trips to the dog park or play in the back yard. A well exercised dog is a happy well behaved dog!

* Applicants living in a rental property must provide proof of pet policy from landlord.

* Applicants must provide a veterinarian reference and if there are existing dogs in the household. All pets must be spayed/neutered and current on all shots and heartworm medication.

*Please allow at least a 7-14 day adjustment period for your new dog. Rescue dogs go thru a lot of changes and need a few days to get used to their new surroundings and adjust. Adopting a dog should be a serious commitment, so please be willing to work out the kinks. Our dogs aren't perfect but with proper training and guidance they make awesome, loving pets.

*Our adoption fees vary based on the age and medical needs of the dogs.
