My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A GEM! This girl is a true gem! Star is approximately 3 years old medium sized snuggly ball of energy. She is crate trained, house trained, walks well on leash, and loves people and other dogs, especially if they will play with her. She loves, loves, loves to swim (she would make a great diving dog). She loves toys and carries them outside and back inside. She also does great at doggy daycare too!  Darla has done well with all kinds of dogs and people including kids!

Some of you might remember Star’s initial pictures when we rescued her last April. She was found unresponsive in an abandoned apartment and only weight 18 pounds. It was quite a fight to save this special girl,  and despite her horrible past, she is now delightful and healthy

Star is the most cuddly medium size dog  ever, and even though she now weighs 50 pounds now, she thinks she’s a 10# lap dog. Star says her best forever home will play with her, take her on daily walks, and let her sleep in bed with them (even though she will sleep in a crate if she needs to), she just really loves to cuddle. A fenced in yard would be best for this girl. She is great with kids and with other dogs, but will hunt rabbits, so we are thinking probably not good with cats.  After all she has been though, Star is a good, good girl and needs the best life we can give her.  Let us know if you’d like to meet her.

All available dogs are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and given a broad spectrum dewormer .

The adoption fee for dogs is $150 for Adult dogs > 15lbs, $100 for Seniors 8yr+, and $200 for Small breed dogs and Puppies < 6 months

If you decide to apply for this or another animal, you can complete the application online here https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/570/generic We require that all dogs in the home be spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on heartworm prevention.

More about this rescue

Friends of the Mustang Animal Shelter (FOMAS) is a non-profit organization formed in 2013 to support the programs of the shelter.

Our organization is run by volunteers who work to prevent euthanasia at our city's shelter by providing vet care and finding homes for each animal at the shelter that is not reclaimed by their owners. All of our volunteers are unpaid, and all donations go to the care of the animals.

For information about volunteer opportunities, visit our website or send us a PM. http://fomas.webs.com/get-involved
