Foster Home Feedback

3/7/2024 Foster Feedback: Lotus has had an amazing recovery from her jaw injury and has been living it up!  She loves to play with her dog friends and has even learned how to play with the cat appropriately! She would LOVE a high energy, playful, large dog friend to frolic and romp with.  She loves every person and animal that she meets.  She is a smart girl and picks up on routines and commands well.  She is treat motivated and wants to do everything she can to earn that delicious reward!  She would love to find a family to take her to obedience classes or even maybe an agility class.

She is doing really great with potty training, but sometimes still has an accident when kenneled for a full day.  But is getting better every time!  She currently has graduated to sleeping on a dog bed on the floor in her foster family's bedroom and loves that.  She is a wonderful, happy girl that just wants to cuddle and play!

01/24/2024 Foster Feedback: Lotus has had a long recovery, when she came into the rescue she was suffering from multiple jaw fractures caused by being attacked by another dog. She had to spend 2 months in a cone and muzzle. She is finally recovered and is ready to find her forever family!
Lotus is now your typical young puppy. She is active and playful and smart. She loves to run and the husky in her loved to play in the snow. She is working on potty training, but sometimes forgets to tell you she has to go, so taking her out frequently helps prevent accidents, but she is getting better about going to the door. Lotus sleeps in a crate well, and she is still working on holding her bladder all night.
Lotus is very playful and loves to play with dogs that have her energy level. Having a friend to play with helps burn off all her extra energy!
Like any puppy Lotus would benefit from attending some obedience classes, as she still has a lot to learn!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

There is a pre-adoption application, reference check, and home visit required prior to adopting an animal. There is an adoption donation/fee applied to all dogs. This fee ranges from $100-150. These fees help cover the veterinary care we have provided for the animals while they wait for homes. The fee also helps pay for the food and other general care we provide for the dogs. You must be 21 yrs or older to adopt a dog and can not live in a an area where there are dog breed bans. We do adopt to homes outside on the area, but there are special requirements for out of state adopters.

Go meet their pets

We regularly have "Meet the Dogs!" events at the West Fargo PetSmart store. These events will give you the opportunity to meet some of the dogs we have available for adoption and to visit with our volunteers. See our website for schedule dates/times.
