My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lloyd has the biggest heart; his brothers and sisters were born in a drug house in a small rural community. The original owner was in jail, but a kind gentleman wanted to save them. They lived on the street for several months until a random addict decided she wanted them dead. We were able to save nine of them. Lloyd has taken the role of ring leader. He watches over the others and our staff. He can be food aggressive, but who isn't if you have missed a few meals and weren't sure where your next meal would come from? Lloyd knows how to walk on a leash; he sleeps in his kennel at night; he will do his best not to soil his kennel because he hates having a dirty kennel. Llloy would make a great addition to a home without other dogs or a home that would help him adjust to sharing with another dog. Lloyd's less-than-perfect start in life has made him a big old lover; he just wants to be someone's best friend.

More about this shelter

We are an N0-Kill 501c3, a nonprofit organization located in rural Mississippi County, Arkansas.

We started rescuing the dogs of Mississippi County that the local humane society did not have the resources to save in 2018. We save those who have medical and emotional needs. Those who may never be adoptable.

We assist the Mississippi County Sheriff’s office with investigating and prosecuting animal abuse cases.

We are the voice for the voiceless.
