My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks!

Meet Chad. He is just about the biggest dork! No seriously - we love him. He and his brother were found as strays when they were just about 5 weeks old. Our first look at them, the puppy foster coordinator guessed Husky / GSD and she was right! DNA says they are all mutt... lots of fun breeds in their genetics. Chad is a chunk, he's an active boy and would love an active home. We are looking for someone with large breed experience. Of course other friendly dogs in the home are a plus, he LOVES other dogs. He met his foster mom's nieces and was soooooo good.

Chad is now in foster and learning all things puppy - crate training, leashes and more! Honestly, photos do not do him justice! He is so freaking sweet and chunky. He's a confident friendly boy. We think another friendly dog would be perfect for him. Because of his breeds, apartment living is not a good fit... a large fenced yard would be great. Chad is now just over 16 weeks old and in the 30+ pound range. He will likely be 70+ pounds when fully grown. :)

This puppy is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. He just got on pet insurance and was cleared orthopedically. Puppies are good with dogs, cats, kids and more. Being a puppy, they will need lots of training, including housebreaking. Remember, puppies are cute, but they have sharp teeth, need to be fed 3 times a day and poop... a lot!

Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption.

Save-A-Mutt may require a training contract and $100 refundable deposit (depending on previous dog experience) on our larger breed puppies.

Adoption fee is $475 + $100 refundable training deposit. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible.

Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home.

Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.
