My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet the radiant and riveting, Mater, like Tuh-Mater' but without the 'Tuh'! Mater is NHA's resident mischief maker who is ready to cruise down Route 66 and into your heart. They say life is a highway and boy has life been a journey for Mater! Before he came to us, he was hit by a truck and broke his leg, it was very RUFF but our outstanding Vet Team worked very hard to fix his leg, and now he is ready to rev his engine and go. He is still recovering but getting back to his old self more and more everyday! Mater is ready to be your new best friend and lightning doesn't strike twice, so get ready, set, and come on down to NHA to meet the newest member of your family today!

Go meet their pets

We’re so excited that you’re considering adopting from Nashville Humane Association. We’re located at 213 Oceola Ave in West Nashville, near the intersection of White Bridge Road and Charlotte Pike, and are open from 10AM until 5PM TUE through SUN (closed Mondays). We’re also closed every TUE-THUR from 12-1PM for “Quiet Hour.” As a quick heads up, our adoption process takes about an hour, and all adoptions must be finalized on-site at the shelter, so if you’re planning to visit and adopt, be sure to make accommodations for time.
