Hammer's foster was nice enough to give us some information on this sweet boy!
Personality-He is an energetic hound, ready for anything.
Disposition- Sweet. Affectionate. Happy. Curious. A real cuddle bug!
Dog-friendly-absolutely. Lived with two resident dogs, one female and one male. Handles correction from resident dogs very well.
Cats-unknown
Dining habits- Healthy appetite for meals.
House-trained-walks after breakfast, mid-day, if possible, before dinner and at bedtime. Being a youngster, I did take him outside to urinate prior to breakfast and after any long naps during the day or evening.
Walking- he had no trouble taking 20 min walks. As for stairs, he does really well when they are spread out. The front of our house has 3 steps, then a landing and then 4 steps up to the inside. We brought him up the back steps which is about 12 steep steps and he made it halfway and we could tell he was not comfortable.
Does well in a crate and likes a soft dog bed, however, he will bark at first before we leave the house, he stops barking after approximately 10 minutes. Highly recommend crating when leaving the home because he will get into trash cans, etc.
Obedience Training- Strongly recommended. Hammer wants to learn and is very smart! Enjoys people of all ages and other dogs.
Car-Handles car rides very well. It is important to make sure he is belted in or he will be all over the place.
