My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/Application
Please do not call the shelter; do the application first.

DJ and his brother Dakota, just over a year old, were surrendered by a family with several cats, whose children were not keeping up with litterbox duty, so some of the cats had to go. These two drew the short straws.

The prior owner described these boys as both being very nice, friendly cats who are good with other cats, dogs, and children.

Since arriving at the shelter, Dakota, the tabby, has adapted pretty well, and is playful and affectionate.

DJ, the handsome black panther, appears to be a more sensitive soul whose heart broke when he lost his family. He is sort of shut down and depressed right now, though he gets to share his room with his brother and a couple of other friendly kitties. DJ's wonderful purrsonality only shines through when he has visits from staff and volunteers, as can be seen on his video.

These boys may be adopted separately, though they would likely enjoy finding a new home together if possible. They are used to an indoor-only lifestyle. Dakota should fit in pretty seamlessly wherever he ends up, while DJ would like a compassionate and sensitive person to snuggle him through his depression and reassure him that he is worthy of love again.

All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee is a suggested minimum of $40 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.

Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
