Grace came to ABMR underweight with 3 puppies. She has been spayed and has now been released from the doctor and is ready to find her forever home.
She is located near Waco TX. Transport assistance is available.
-She is a friendly, happy and exuberant 4 year old. She was found near the Tex-Mex border with 3 surviving pups in the extreme heat.
-Grace is dog friendly with supervision. She likes to play but can herd and nip her playmates.
-She is also kid friendly with supervision. She does like to herd and nip, so supervision with young kids is necessary. She greets everyone with a happy bark. She is confident and excited, but still needs controlled introductions and continued socialization in public.
-Now that Grace has settled with her foster, she has shown a higher energy level. She loves to be outdoors running, playing with her foster brother, or just lying in the grass and sun. She loves playing in the water but surprisingly doesn’t care for baths.
-She settles down indoors nicely. She is kennel trained and happily goes in when asked. She sleeps quietly in her kennel at night.
-Grace has completed basic training but will require continued reinforcement. She is highly motivated by treats, praise and snuggles. Her favorites are peanut butter and a kong ball.
-She has been accident free in the kennel. Current foster has a doggy door, so she has the ability to go out when she needs. She has not destroyed anything in the home, but does tear up and eats anything left in or near her kennel.
-Grace can be sneaky sometimes and will try to counter surf so far stealing an avocado and a tomato, so indoor supervision and continued training is required.
-Grace does need a fenced in yard. She chases cars along the fence line but does not attempt to get out.
-Grace would do well in an active home with or without other dogs. She enjoys one-on-one time and is entertained by toys and treats. She does enjoy the company of other dogs, but another dog is not a must.
