A name like Squirrel perfectly conveys this girl`s silly personality. She`s got a higher energy level and loves to run and play. She seems to be happiest when being playfully chased. She`s always happy to lead the way to one of our play yards where she can free range goof around. Her friendship is not a hard nut to crack at all! She`s very open and loves company. Just taking her out of his kennel makes you friends, and offering her a treat puts you above all others in his mind. Squirrel has been working on learning to sit on command – we’re sure she’ll get it soon with practice! She already knows exactly what a leash is for and will come to you when he sees you hold it up.

Our regular adoption fee is $100 payable by money order or credit card. The fee covers basic vaccinations, Rabies vaccination, microchip, heart worm testing for dogs, and the spay/neuter surgery.

You will be required to sign to an adoption contract and other paperwork relating to the adoption of your new family member.

Our kennel hours are Monday-Friday 10 am to 4 pm and Wednesday 5 pm to 7 pm. We are also open on Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm.

More about this shelter

We are an open admission, municipal shelter serving the unincorporated area of Fort Bend County, TX.

We are the county's rabies control authority as well as being their animal shelter. On average, we take in approximately 4,000-5,000 pets per year.

The staff at FBCAS is small but each and every one of us is dedicated to making the stay of the pets in our care as comfortable as possible. Our hearts are in this and with every pet that crosses our threshold.

We are part of the amazing Fort Bend County community and we are always striving to work with our community people and partners to make our shelter the best it can be.

We can always use new volunteers to help us keep our pets happy and healthy while they wait for their forever home.
