A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.

Date into Rescue: 12/15/2023
Reason for being in rescue: Sydney was born into rescue
Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Special Needs? Sydney is up to date on vaccines for her age. Due to age, she is not spayed. She will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract which requires you to spay her at your expense within 12 months. Sydney is a very young puppy that is not house trained or crate trained. She will need patience and proper training to accomplish both. Sydney is an Australian Shepherd / Standard Poodle mix. She is not hypoallergenic and will shed.
Weight: 7 lbs and growing, Sydney should reach about 45 lbs full grown.
Height: 4 ins and growing, Sydney should reach about 20 ins full grown.
Spayed/Neutered: No

Fence needed? Yes, Sydney requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller.
What kind of home would be best for me? Sydney requires a home with another active dog for socialization and play. A person scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and can provide multiple potty breaks throughout the day and night is a must. She is a baby and needs play breaks as well as frequent and consistent potty times to aid in potty training. Sydney has never lived with cats.
Doodle puppies are always in need of a canine friend, they love to run and play with one another. Doodle puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically, so a fenced in yard will be required. Doodle puppies are very well rounded dogs, they do not meet strangers and would do well with a nice big family or a single owner! What matters most to a doodle puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! When raised around cats, with proper boundaries, puppies do very well, it is important to note that poodles can have a high prey drive. If you expect your puppy to get alone with your feline buddy, it’s important to start socializing the puppy with the cat as soon as you can! This pup has not had contact with cats that we know of and will not have contact while with their current foster.
What is my personality like? Sydney is calm and quiet for a puppy. She will settle in nicely in her own home with a canine friend. Sydney does have her rambunctious moments but overall is a dream of a puppy. Sydney loves to sprawl out in the sunshine in her bedroom(yes, she has her own bedroom that she shares with her brother and mom)

PUPPY POLICY:
Thank you for carefully considering the addition of a puppy to your family. Puppies can be a joyous experience, but they can also be a tremendous amount of work. Since our goal is to place each of our dogs in forever homes, we are especially cautious with puppies. We like to stress 3 major things when considering a puppy vs. an adult dog: 1) many adult dogs are well bred, well trained dogs who find themselves in rescue through no fault of their own, 2) adult dogs are eager to share their love and bond with their new family, and 3) puppies will always require far more time, energy, and training than an adult dog.
Our ideal puppy adopters are:
-experienced dog owners with a solid record of excellent vet care of their previous pets
-scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and have another canine companion already in the home
-stay at home type of people (work at home, home schoolers, retired, etc)

House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.

Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
