My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet the world's most perfect puppy, Neera!

Quick Facts:
Breed: Shepherd X
Size: Currently 30# (as of 2/2), likely around the 60# range full grown.
Age: 7 months ( Estimated DOB 8/25/23)

Neera's start in this world was less than ideal, at just 2.5 months old, she found herself living on the streets and was hit by a car. Neera needed immediate surgery - a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO). She is now fully recovered & ready to take on the world again,

She rivals the richest triple layer fudge cake, loving anything and everything she comes in contact with - people, dogs, walks, hiking. She loves exploring the neighborhood, random trails & visiting breweries with all her friends. If you're looking for the brightest ray of sunshine in the room.. you've found Neera.

Neera enjoys a good romp in the backyard with her foster siblings, intense tug of war, or chasing squirrels. She has now taken on the role of big sister to her new foster puppy, and she takes this role VERY seriously. As a typical young pup, Neera is active and curious, but also loves to hang out on the couch and chew on a bone while you binge Grey's Anatomy for the 7th time. She's very affectionate, providing constant kisses, exuberant tail wags & in spite of the major surgery she had, jumps that could rival the most kangaroo of kangaroos.

She is house trained, sleeps beautifully through the night in her crate & is accustomed to being in her crate while her foster parents are off at work to fund her adventurous life. She knows basic commands, and her leash manners are a work in progress. Aside from announcing your latest amazon delivery, she's not much of a barker, but can be vocal while playing with her friends. While a household with another dog is not a necessity, we think Neera would thrive in an environment with another sibling, or lots of playdates. She has not been around cats or children, but with proper supervision & boundaries from all parties, we don't see her having any trouble adjusting.

Puppies require training, so Neera is no different. Expect to work to potty train your newest addition as well as work with them on their basic obedience. We highly encourage enrolling your new addition in training courses to teach obedience and socialization skills. Please remember puppies are A LOT of work and are a commitment for life.

Additional adoption info

To begin the adoption process, please complete the adoption application online.

Please see our adoptable pets page for a list of the current pets that we have for adoption.

All interested applicants must complete an adoption application for the pet that you are interested in. Applications are considered in the order in which they are received.

One of our volunteers will review the application and contact you via email or phone to ask any questions that we might have. We also reserve the right to perform a home visit for any adoption. During a home visit, a Catering to Cats and Dogs volunteer will come to your house to see where your new pet will live.

If you are not sure which one of our adoptable pets would be right for you, please contact us and we would be happy to advise you as to which pet may be a match, just let us know what you are looking for.

Once your application is approved and a match is found, you will be required to sign an adoption contract and pay the recovery fee
