Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Zelda is a 14 pound poodle mix. She might be a cockapoo. She is a non shedding dog that will need regular brushing and hair cuts to keep her coat looking great. She came into a shelter as a stray and was so matted that all we could do was shave her down so she could start fresh in a home that is willing and able to care for her coat. She is very affectionate, loves toys, and other dogs. We don't have a cat, but I think she would do well with some training. She gets along well with the adults in the home but is afraid of the visiting seven year old grandchild. She was likely not socialized with kids. For that reason we are looking for a home who's family members are all over the age of 15. She needs a family who can help her gain experience and confidence so she is not so nervous in new situations. We think she would benefit form being in a home that already has an experienced dog to "show her the ropes" and help build her confidence. We recommend crate training to become fully house broken, but she's doing very well so far. She's very friendly and affectionate, but looks to the other dogs in the home for reassurance in new situations. She will be a good walking companion.
If you think you are up for the commitment of training this adorable dog please submit an application for adoption. She is ready to to go to a new home now. Please note, if you don't receive a return call within a few days, assume Zelda has found her forever home.
