Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Susie has been in foster care for the past month and is probably one of the sweetest dogs we’ve ever had. She loves snuggling with her humans, playing with the other dogs, snoozing in the sun and just enjoying life. Just a baby really (probably about 2 years old), she was left in a bag on a Mexico highway to be run over. Some sweet people saw the bag moving and stopped to investigate. Who knows what might have happened if they hadn’t come along when they did. Susie ended up with a slightly bent front leg (probably from not healing correctly after her experience on the highway – perhaps she was hit before people found her.
But Susie’s “bent leg” doesn’t stop her from running and playing with the best of them. You’d hardly notice it except when she’s sitting in front of you. Incredibly, Susie seems mostly unfazed by her rough start to life. She loves people and other dogs and just life in general. BUT she is shy of people she doesn’t know. It doesn’t take her long to warm up, but potential families should know that she will be much friendlier after she’s known you a few hours.
Susie’s sweet nature just shines through and to us, she is an inspiration. We realize she may take a while to get adopted because all black dogs ALWAYS get adopted last. But we’re willing to wait until the perfect family comes along. She’ll be here safe and well cared for until her family shows up. She’s fully vaccinated and spayed and ready to go.
Let us know if you’d like more information or to come and visit her.
