Hi, I'm Basil, and I am looking for a very special someone: someone who's a great cuddler; someone who love to play; someone who's confident and independent; someone who's got 4 legs... Don't get me wrong, people are ok, but I'm really looking for another dog to be my bestie. You see, I get scared when it's just me alone with humans, even super nice ones, and I'll jump fences and escape leashes and harnesses to find a four-legged companion. I'm not too picky, pretty much anyone will do, but they HAVE to have more than just the 2 legs! So if you are looking for a new best friend for your dog - not for you - I'm your girl!!! And who knows, maybe after a while you'll be almost as good as another dog to me too!

Fill out a Meet Your Match questionnaire, spend some time getting to know the pet you are considering taking home, and talk to an adoption counselor.
Each animal will leave the Center spayed or neutered, vaccinated, heartworm (dogs) or FeLV/FIV (cats) tested, de-wormed, treated for fleas/ticks, given heartworm preventative if applicable and microchipped.

A leader in animal welfare both locally and nationally, the nonprofit shelter’s mission is to enhance the lives of companion animals and people by encouraging a culture of responsibility and compassion. As an open admission facility, the Center provides animal services and care for any animal in the city of Chattanooga regardless of age, breed, health, and temperament. McKamey has a number of thriving programs to benefit companion animals and people including adoption, foster, rescue, trap-neuter-return for feral cats, and humane education.
