Dupree came to AAC in January with a back wound and now that he is healed and cone free, he is loving life! A volunteer who took him to the play yard recently wrote, “he’s such a fun pup. Big head, Big heart. He is silly, engaging, soaks up time with his people!”
Dupree loves playing fetch, getting treats, and giving love to his people. He is very affectionate and appreciates belly rubs and pets, like you can see from his pictures of his humans loving on him!
We think Dupree is around 2 years old, which means you can still shape and mold his behaviors at this young age by building positive habits and instilling reinforcement in training. Still, he has a longer attention span than a new pup, but with all the silly and engaging play. Dupree makes Staff & Volunteers laugh, and we know he is bound to make his forever family happy. Come meet this beautiful bulldog and see if he is the missing piece to your family.

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day! For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites. For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.
Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older
