My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kenai was rescued by us as a puppy from Texas. She is 4 years old (DOB 6/11/19).

She became a reactive dog around 10 months old despite taking her to puppy classes and desensitization classes as well as socializing her through puppy day care and beyond. When COVID pandemic arrived, we had to move and lost access to the daycare. In our new neighborhood there are many dogs - she has found great dog friends, whom she is always eager to play with. However, certain situtations trigger her anxiety, and in turn, her reactiveness. Dogs that "stare her down" or reactiveness of other dogs will trigger her to raise her hackles and react in turn. Night walks, with low visibility, puts her more on edge. Despite working with a dedicated behaviorist and medication, her unease is clear.

At home, and to those she knows, she is absolutely loving, sweet, and gentle (inc. kids/men). No resource issues.

She would thrive in a wide open space where there are less distractions, fewer unknown dogs.
