My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Charlemagne is not just any dog; heandamp;#39;s a majestic Akita, a breed known for its intelligence, loyalty, impressive presence, and deep devotion to their families. But letandamp;#39;s get to know Charlemagne a bit better ?andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Charlemagne is not just incredibly handsome; heandamp;#39;s also overflowing with affection. His warm, loving nature makes him the perfect companion for anyone seeking a loyal friend by their side. Charlemagne thrives on human connection and prefers people over dogs, craving those heartwarming moments of closeness. ??????andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Now, hereandamp;#39;s a fun fact about Akitas - they LOVE to run! And Charlemagne is no exception. Heandamp;#39;s got energy to spare and would make an excellent exercise buddy. Whether itandamp;#39;s a jog in the park or a spirited game of fetch in your backyard, Charlemagne is up for the challenge. ???????andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Unfortunately, Charlemagneandamp;#39;s time in the shelter is taking a toll on this bright Akita. Smart dogs like him often find the shelter environment challenging which is why weandamp;#39;re urgently seeking a loving home where he can thrive and share his affectionate spirit with a family who appreciates his Akita charm. ??andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Are you ready to welcome Charlemagne into your heart and home? Come meet Charlemagne at our main El Paso Animal Services Center, 5001 Fred Wilson any day from 11am-6pm, and to foster or adopt this handsome boy. ??andlt;br/andgt;

Their adoption process

1.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

With hundreds of pets at the shelter and in foster, we recommend checking our website before visiting in person.

2.

Meet the Pet

We recommend bringing the whole family, including resident dogs, to meet the pet you're interested in adopting to ensure it's a good match.

3.

Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoption team will review the adoption contract with you. Adoption fees are $30 for dogs and $5 for cats unless during a special promo.

Additional adoption info

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis and must be made in person. As a high-intake shelter, most of the pets that come to us are strays, meaning we have limited background history on the pet, such as health, behavioral or living history. All adoptions include the animal's spay/neuter procedure, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and city license. All adoptions include a 7 day free trial with our training partner, GoodPup to help ease the transition!
