My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is what my foster family has to say about me:andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Hello! My name is Happy and I am a 10-year-old lab mix. Now people may say that I bark somewhat but I canandamp;#39;t help myself for being so... happy! I just get too excited to see you and hope that you take me out to play. I love to be hugged and I enjoy placing my head on your lap andamp;#39;cause that is my way of showing that I love you. I really enjoy takings walks and I am very loyal, obedient, and potty trained, leash trained, and crate trained. Oh yeah, I also get along with my other foster dogs. I am looking for someone or a family that can take care of me and my sister Lulu.andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;To meet Happy, contact EPASAdoptions@elpasotexas.gov with my A number and weandamp;#39;ll have my people contact your people!

Their adoption process

1.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

With hundreds of pets at the shelter and in foster, we recommend checking our website before visiting in person.

2.

Meet the Pet

We recommend bringing the whole family, including resident dogs, to meet the pet you're interested in adopting to ensure it's a good match.

3.

Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoption team will review the adoption contract with you. Adoption fees are $30 for dogs and $5 for cats unless during a special promo.

Additional adoption info

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis and must be made in person. As a high-intake shelter, most of the pets that come to us are strays, meaning we have limited background history on the pet, such as health, behavioral or living history. All adoptions include the animal's spay/neuter procedure, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and city license. All adoptions include a 7 day free trial with our training partner, GoodPup to help ease the transition!
