My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

This stunning boy is Echo and we believe he is a Shiloh Shepherd, which  is a giant shepherd dog bred to be larger, calmer, and more family-friendly.   Echo was briefly adopted but returned, through no fault of his own.  Echo was born around 6/30/19 and weighs 80 pounds.  He showed up as a stray in Dothan was was temporarily staying in a barn stall until he found his Amazing Foster Family!  Here's what they have to say about Echo:   He’s a big boy at about 80lbs and is larger than he generally looks in photos. Echo is phenomenal with other dogs of all sizes and very sweet with people. He is a little too interested in cats though. He would really benefit from another dog in the home. Echo is a big follower and so needs a good leader as his person to give guidance and reassurance. Once he knows you’re his person, he’s a happy, silly pup that is up for whatever. Echo makes for a great market, brunch, brewery, beach, etc dog. Pretty much anything you ask of him, he’ll be happy to oblige. He also enjoys riding in the convertible, swimming in the ocean, and walks well on a leash. In typical shepherd fashion, he’s a bit of a velcro dog and can be a little mouthy. He is kennel trained and is mostly house trained. He kind of needs to be treated like a puppy in that he needs to go out every few hours and and 15 minutes after meals or water. If given the opportunity to go out, he’s happy to do his business outside. Echo knows sit, down, and stay. His nickname is Goober and he has fully earned that moniker. He’s a fabulous guy and his easy-going disposition is sure to put a smile on your face.  Since Echo is a medium sized dog, we like to recommend a home with a fenced in backyard to make sure he'll get the exercise he needs.
