My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bryssa, the epitome of a certified good girl with a heart as golden as her impeccable manners. This stunning Shepherd mix is not just a feast for the eyes; she's a soulful companion with a grace that lights up any room she enters. With her lush coat that seems to shimmer in the sunlight, Bryssa could easily be the reigning queen of any canine beauty pageant. Her elegance is matched by a playful spirit, making her the perfect blend of girly charm and tomboyish zest.

In the world of four-legged friends, Bryssa stands out for her remarkable ability to get along with other dogs. She's the life of the party at dog parks, greeting her peers with a wagging tail and a friendly bark, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and joy. When it's time to hit the road, Bryssa transforms into a road-trip royalty, riding shotgun with the poise of a seasoned traveler, her nose to the window, taking in the sights and smells with a serene composure.

But don't let her ladylike demeanor fool you; Bryssa is also a tomboy at heart, with a passion for the great outdoors that rivals any adventurer. She's a professional ball player, chasing after flying balls with the agility and focus of an athletic champion. Her energy and enthusiasm for play make every game an adventure, showcasing her spirited nature and zest for life. Bryssa is not just a dog; she's a companion who brings beauty, grace, and a dash of playful mischief to every day.

More about this rescue

The vision for ACT has been brewing in the minds of the Animal Compassion Team founders for many years. The paths we have walked have prepared us and tested our determination through hard work, buckets of tears, mountains of fecal matter (a favorite topic of discussion amongst animal rescuers), and more than our fair share of discouragement and heartbreak. Having said that, why would we choose to dive in deeper? For the love of the animals we serve. It is just that simple. Dogs, cats, and other wonderful animals are dying in huge numbers daily. We hope to help change that. In August of 2009, we became a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation with California and the Federal Government. It was and continues to be, a huge leap of faith for all of us who already feel overwhelmed by the work we are doing, but we believe this is the time....this is what we have all been preparing for. One life saved makes all the effort and emotional investment worthwhile. This is going to be an exciting journey, and we hope to post MANY happy endings.

Our Mission Statement:

To provide a safe haven for domestic animals, regardless of breed or species, through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and sanctuary. To advocate for the humane treatment of animals and promote the human-animal bond. To educate the public about the importance of kindness, compassion, and responsible pet ownership which will emphasize spaying and neutering. To cooperate and work with other animal rescues and shelters towards the goal of becoming a no-kill nation.
