Their adoption process

All of our rescues have been through a lot, we are very selective in our adoption process and will always put the best interest of the animal first. We thank you for understanding and supporting us in this.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. We everyone to submit an application for adoption. This lets us know about your current care knowledge about bearded dragons.
  2. Interview
    1. If the application fits our criteria, we will reach out and discuss the answers on the application. This can be over the phone.
  3. Approve Application
    1. If the application and interview go well, we will approve the application and arrange a time for you to meet the dragon.
  4. Meet the Pet
    1. One of the best day! We love introducing people to their future pet!
  5. Home Check
    1. Once everything has been approved and you met your future dragon, we will verify that you have a correct setup before adoption is finalized
  6. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. We have a contract to sign and an adoption fee to process. This is given to you earlier in the process so you have time to read it.
  7. Take the Pet Home
    1. The best day is finally here! All the work was worth it! Your new bearded dragon gets to go home with you!

More about this rescue

The Bearded Dragon Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit focused on bearded dragons. Bearded dragons are popular pets with a gentle and friendly demeanor. Unfortunately, they often do not receive the proper care and end up being abandoned and in poor condition. We rescue and rehabilitate bearded dragons and find them forever homes!

In addition to our rescue, we work hard to further research into bearded dragon care and treatment, and we work to distribute the correct care information to pet stores, breeders and owners alike. We don't just want to save bearded dragons that need help now, we want to stop bearded dragons from getting into these bad situations in the first place.
