Jackie Oranges is a sweet, playful, and loving gent who adores snuggling up next to you and receiving attention and pets. He came to TCR with several other kitties when his aging caretaker realized that she was caring for a few too many cats and reached out to us for help.
Jackie previously lived with other kitties and, estimated at at least six years old, is one of the more mature cats of the bunch. He is still very interactive with his people, but he does prefer feline companions who are more self-sufficient as opposed to ones that would be pouncing all over him all of the time. He is currently being fostered with other cats and is doing well with them, but we think that he'd also do just fine as a solo cat, soaking up aaaalll of the attention from his people. He doesn't take long to warm up, and we think that he would likely do just fine in a home with respectful kiddos. He briefly met his foster mom's pups and was skeptical but could likely coexist with a chill dog, with proper introductions.
Jackie can often be found rolling around begging for pets, and if you scratch THE SPOT on his back, you will get to see his signature "mean mug" look (which comes accompanied by lots and LOTS of purrs!
Jackie has been neutered, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested FIV/FeLV-. He also recently received a dental, but he doesn't have the greatest teeth in the world and (like many cats) may need follow up dental care in the future. Are you interested in this loving boy? Please apply today!

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.
Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
