My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Misha! Are you looking for a small, sweet, silly, loving kitty who will talk to you? That is me! I can be shy at first meeting, but with a little gentle coaxing and perhaps some treats - I will start purring and rubbing on you for more! I am a vocal gal and will meow to say hi when you get home, to tell you I am hungry, to find you in another room, to encourage pets, or just to chat with you!

I am definitely a people cat and I love to be with you and to snuggle at night. During the day, I am a silly, playful kitty and I love to chase a feather wand and roll around with catnip toys. At naptime, you might find me up on a high shelf or inside a drawer (yes, I sometimes open drawers and cabinets!) or soaking up the sun by a window.

I have had some dental disease throughout my life and have had all but my tiny front teeth removed. That's ok, because it feels so much better and I still eat my dry food just fine!

I would love to be your only kitty love - but I can coexist with other cats after a slow introduction. Dogs are fine with me as long as they give me my space.

Due to some scary events in my recent past, I get stressed if left alone for too long, so I will need adopters who will be patient with me while I am adjusting to a new environment and who are home enough of the time that I know that I am safe.

Will you come meet me? I just know you will love me! If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationApril 30, 2024, 7:08 am

Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
