And now, a few words from me:
Hello there, let me introduce myself. My name is Gracie and I’m a terrier mix (my foster mother thinks I may have some Wolfhound in me). Through no fault of my own, I’m looking for a new forever family. You see I was adopted as a puppy and spent almost 9 years with them. One of my human sisters got sick and my parents didn’t have enough time for me and they felt I would be better with a new family that can give me all the time in the world.
I am a very good girl. I take to females right away but it does take me a few days to start to feel comfortable with males. Once I do, then I will be their best buddy. I know my commands, can do tricks and walk very well on the leash. I love to go for rides in the car.
I can't wait to find my new forever home!
And now, a few words from my foster mom:
Gracie is the sweetest dog! She is very loving with her foster family. Her previous family spent a lot of time training her and it shows. She is an absolute pleasure to walk on the leash. She never pulls and she loves her daily walks. Gracie loves to be outside, whether it is going for walks or just hanging out in the backyard.
Gracie is very well trained, she knows ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘wait’ and ‘come’ (though she does have selective hearing when outside with this one). Gracie does a few tricks too like shaking a paw and catching treats in mid air. Gracie is fully house trained and has never had an accident in her foster home.
She is quite the character. Gracie loves it when we sing or talk to her – she does this adorable head tilt that just makes you smile! She also likes to ‘talk’ to you when she wants something like dinner or going for a walk. Gracie does have a voice and will bark at noises she does not recognize or if someone comes to the door. For this reason, we do not recommend her living in an apartment or condo.
Gracie loves to go for car rides and will sit in the back looking out the window or will have a snooze. When we stop to get out of the car, we tell her to ‘wait’ before she is allowed out – this is to ensure we have her leash in hand. Gracie jumps into and out of the car with no issues.
Currently, Gracie is living with three small female dogs. She especially loves our female 6 lbs dog. Gracie would be suited in a home as an only dog or with other small female dogs (she does not like medium to large dogs).
Gracie can be trusted in the house and is not destructive in any way. She is good if you have to go into the office and is just as good if you are working from home. Gracie does not play with toys much but when she does, she has a monkey that she enjoys playing tug-of-war with.
At night, Gracie sleeps on her dog bed in our bedroom. She will go to her bed and wait for her nighttime treat and then settles down right away. She does not make a peep all night long.
If you are looking for a loving, sweet dog - then Gracie is your girl.
