My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Buck!

Buck (FKA: "Jughead") is a young Sharpei mix with quite the story behind him...and that is just a very brief portion of his life that we know about! Buck was found wandering in Texas - likely dumped - with his buddy Archie (FKA: "Red"). Buck was hard not to notice - he had an empty plastic cat feeder stuck on his head! We couldn't stand by and do nothing while Buck was in danger of not being able to eat/drink with this object stuck over his head. Unfortunately, Buck and Archie were too scared to be easily caught. It took an experienced trapper over THIRTY days to catch these two, with Buck somehow surviving against odds with the plastic cat feeder stuck over his head the entire time! Not surprisingly, if Buck were able to find a way to eat and drink despite our worries, then we can believe that he is also a smart boy. He is already crate/potty trained, leash trained, and knows some basic commands. Buck has been good around kids, cats, and other dogs. This big man does like to play, wrestle, and let his inner pup out - he would love a dog friend his age and size with a play style to keep up! He is friendly, loyal, playful, smart, brave, curious, funny, athletic, and loves kisses.

Buck is neutered, current on vaccinations, monthly preventative, dewormed, and microchipped. If interested in adopting Buck, please fill out the adoption application linked below. Thank you!

More about this rescue

We rescue dogs and cats from overcrowded shelters to help prevent animals from being euthanized due to space. These cats and dogs work with us to help teach veterinarians how to perform ultrasounds. Our goal is to make sure that these dogs and cats get the necessary medical care and are completely healthy before they are adopted out to loving homes. We are a small organization and are always looking for potential fosters.
