Not a fan of children? Do you prefer to keep a consistent routine and are you not a fan of parties? Bella would love to meet you! She is seeking someone to take long walks with and someone who will fill her days with toys and love.

She was surrendered by her owner due to housing issues and not being good with the children in the home she ended up in. She spent nearly 13 yrs either crated or stuck in a back yard and only received sporadic training, walks and vet care. Upon intake to us, she underwent surgery to remove some concerning mammary masses that ended up being benign. She takes some medication to help with her anxiety about her new world and still can exhibit some gremlin behaviors when you meet her, but is happy to accept new people after some treats and a walk. She takes a bit of time to trust new humans but has slowly been expanding her ability to trust. Once she trusts you, you are in a very special club indeed! She is highly amusing to play with and a fun companion to walk with. If you are looking for a dog that makes you feel special, she is your IT Girl!

We appreciate you + we love our animals. Please be patient as this may take a few business days to check all personal + vet references.

We are a 100% foster-based organization so a day/time is coordinated with our amazing foster to meet the animal that caught your eye.

Sign Adoption Contract

Our contracts are digital + sent from our software database.

Pay Fee

We have several options for you to help us continue our work in matching animals with their forever family units.

At this time, Familiar Hearts Animal Society meetings are by appointment only.

We currently rely on our amazing web of generous fosters throughout the Philadelphia area and will do our best to make a meeting as convenient as possible for both human + animal.

Meetings will need to be coordinated through the foster of the animal you are interested in meeting.

We operate using a network of kind hearted hands to help find homeless animals veterinary and behavior care and then match them with appropriate forever homes. We also strive to educate pet owners about resources they might utilize in order to best understand how to provide for their friends with furry paws, feathers or claws. We always do our best to help.
