Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Julian
Pit Mix
Male
2 years old
40 lbs.
Hello, I’m Julian! I’m a special boy who deserves a loving forever home where I can learn to be a dog and live the beautiful life I so greatly deserve.
Until I met my foster, I had not known compassion, understanding or kindness from a human. I’m sweet, shy and very frightened, and I seek comfort, love and confidence from other dogs. The kindest way to love me, for now, is hands off, paws on! I absolutely need a home with one or more friendly, confident dogs who can show me how to relax and enjoy life. I absolutely love meeting new dogs and want to be their friend immediately!
I love to be in my open-top playpen with other dogs, where I feel safe from humans. Crates remind me of my scary past. I need a patient adopter with a quiet home who understands that I am scared and I’ll take more time than most dogs to develop trust. If I see other dogs trusting a human, I may be able to observe and learn. I have not met any kids or cats, and I don’t know any commands yet. I am potty trained!
I’m recovering and gaining better health and strength. My heart is healing both physically and emotionally. My energy level is still low and I like napping, but I get little spurts of energy when I’m outside if I think nobody is watching me! If someone pets me, I freeze, but I don’t run. I don’t know how to cuddle and I have no idea what toys are for - yet! In fact, noisy toys scare me. I have not met kids or cats; I just know I love dogs!
A sign of my progress and happy days ahead is that I sleep on my foster’s bed at night. My bright future awaits me, and I need doggie friends and a wonderful, loving human to help me along my journey.
