Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweet beautiful mangrove had a tough start at life as he was dumped by a canal and a shopping plaza in Hollywood with his younger fosters sister Root. They were hiding in some mangrove roots but luckily they were spotted by our volunteer who works there when Manny decided enough is enough and he walked up to the volunteer and rubbed his little face against her leg and got them both rescued. (Good job Mangrove ) When Manny was 3 months old, he was diagnosed by a vet with a congenital heart condition called tetralogy of fallot which is a small hole in the heart. Because this condition is so rare, initially the vet classified him as hospice, but we weren't willing to give up on him since this condition is rare, so who knows what's possible. We're sure glad we did because he has responded to the medications beautifully. He is now no longer hospice but just the best sweet boy who takes daily medication and is doing great. Manny knows when he has the energy to play with Root, and he knows when he's had enough running around when he gets a little bit out of breath. He goes and gives himself a rest break and always catches his breath again within 2 minutes. Manny also takes his medication very easily, but he knows that he needs it. He is looking for a home where he will continue his daily medication uninterrupted on schedule as it is vital to his long-term health. If watching this miracle of a boy thrive and live his best life is something you would love to commit to for the rest of his life, please fill out the application to meet him.
Adoption fee for this cat includes FVRCP vaccine, FIV/FELV testing, spay/neuter surgery, deworming, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate) wellness vet visit, one month of pet insurance and microchip. All animals are examined by a veterinarian. Please fill out our application at https://gkarma.wufoo.com/forms/good-karma-pet-rescue-cat-adoption-screening/ if you are interested in meeting or adopting this cat and we will be in touch right away!

We have a quick but thorough adoption process. We ask you to fill out an application and we will touch base with you by phone. If we feel you are a good fit for the animal you would like to adopt based upon your application, we will want to do a home visit and have you meet the pet. If everything checks out, we will ask that you sign an adoption contract and pay a donation - usually $75 for cats and $150 for dogs. This includes all vetting, spay/neuter, vaccines, etc.
Our contract allows us to come visit you and your new family member after the adoption to make sure everything is going well and your new pet is happy & healthy.

More about this rescue
Good Karma Pet Rescue is a small network of foster homes in South Florida dedicated to providing dogs and cats in need with the love and help they need and deserve.
GK was started in 2011 by Stacey Chen, who decided that she could best provide for her foster animals by starting a rescue that aims for best care rather than high volume. We intend to stay as small as we need to be to ensure that every one of our foster animals is treated with the same care and respect we show our own furry family.
GK is based in Fort Lauderdale and is supported by wonderful, dedicated foster parents throughout the South Florida area. If you are interested in helping to save lives through volunteering, fostering, or adopting, please get in touch with us!
