My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Midas is a 2 yr old Black Labrador/Hound mix. He is around 90 lbs and will require a handler that has large breed experience. He is good on leash BUT very strong. Midas is currently enrolled in our prison training program and will remain at the prison until we find an approved adopter.

Midas can be dog selective although he does get along with most dogs. He WILL need to meet all new housemates before adoption will considered and approved.

His handler states: As long as his lab mind is in place he typically heals properly on lead and focuses on his handler....however if his hound mind takes over he is vocal, playful, not always good on lead and very exuberant.

Anyone that has interest in Midas MUST contact the shelter directly to schedule an appointment to meet him and to complete an application.

Adoption fee of $200 and includes vaccinations, rabies vaccination, worming, spay/neuter with pain injection after surgery, heartworm test for dogs over 6 months, microchip and a County Dog License.

More about this shelter

We are the Morrow County Dog Shelter, operated by the county.
Our shelter houses stray and homeless dogs from our county. We are a small shelter with an annual intake between 250-400 dogs. Some of our available dogs go through a prison training program if they qualify.
Our adoption fee includes all basic vet care and it is completed before a dog goes to his/her new home. An adoption application is necessary for all dogs prior to an adopter being chosen.
