Meet Finnley. He is a very good dog, is house-trained, and has no problem going in a kennel. He sleeps in a kennel at night but would also love to sleep in bed if you would like. He is a huge snuggler, loves to be petted, knows basic commands and loves fuzzy blankets. Finnley loves to be outside, play in the sprinklers or go for walks. He does live with another dog and does ok, just not a fan of sharing bones or attention.
He can be very anxious at certain times, like when feeling trapped, or getting his paws touched. He has to be sedated to get his nails cut. For this reason he would do best in a home with no little kids. He currently lives on 2 acres with an underground fence. He is up to date on all his shots and is negative for heartworm and for parasites.
This animal is a Courtesy Listing. This animal resides with his current owner and if you are interested in potentially giving this animal a home you must contact them at jessicaj351@gmail.com. Placement decisions are strictly between you and the current owner. Safe Hands Rescue does not have legal or physical custody of this animal and is not responsible for him or her.

We only adopt out animals to homes within 60 miles of the Twin Cities. Our adoption process begins with the return of our pre-adoption form, available on our website. After reviewing your application a meeting is scheduled between you and the pup, sometimes in the fosters home or at a neutral dog friendly place. If any resident dogs are in your home, it is recommended that the pups meet at this time. After the meeting a home visit is scheduled and if everything goes well with the visit the adoption is finalized at that time. A home visit by one of Safe Hands representatives is REQUIRED prior to finalizing any adoption and we must meet all members of the household where the pup will be living sometime during the adoption process.

More about this rescue
Safe Hands is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization dedicated to saving lives and finding forever homes for stray, abandoned and surrendered dogs in high kill shelters. Of great importance to us is to reduce the stray population and need for healthy animal euthanasia through spay/neuter programs, education, and promotion of respect for the furry creatures that share our lives.
We are a small, no-kill, volunteer run organization. All of our dogs listed are in foster homes waiting to be adopted and because of this, we get to know the dogs' personalities very well and use this information to match them to an appropriate home. We do not have a physical shelter.
This rescue is not funded by public funds nor does it receive many donations so it is dependent on adoption fees to keep operating. We have a great need for foster homes. If you are interested in providing foster care, and live within an hour of the Twin Cities, please e-mail us
Donations ALWAYS needed are: dog crates, puppy pee pads, natures miracle (for pet stain removal), Nutrisource brand puppy and dog food, Lysol disinfecting wipes, paper towels, large clean towels, dog toys, leashes, collars and gas cards to help with our transports.
