A Little Bit About Us

Mr. and Mrs. Howell are an unusual bonded pair! Mr. Howell has never-ending love for all people everywhere! He is irresistibly endearing with boundless energy and could not be cuter! He may even be destined to become a YouTube star. On the other hand, Mrs. Howell (also called Mia) is a bit on the shy side. She is more reserved, but loves wand toy play and petting on her own terms. These two kitties have individual needs, so they are looking for an adult home that is quiet for Mia yet active for Mr. Howell. In a new home, Mr. Howell will be in your lap purring with adoring eyes, or he will be bouncing off your walls and cat trees chasing a wand toy. It will take a bit longer for Mrs. Howell, but with time she'll be purring in your lap, too!

More about this rescue

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
