My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Who needs muffins or pop-tarts when you’ve got Toast! This 3-year old, 37-pound Redtick Coonhound/Beagle mix is the perfect size, the perfect weight, and has the absolute most perfect temperament.

An ideal family dog, Toast likes dogs, cat, adults, and is very sweet with children. He’s energetic and loves to play, but after adequate exercise, he’s able to sit on the couch and chill. He is very affectionate, and it’s hard to stop petting him because once you feel those long velvety ears of his, you won’t be able to keep your hands off!

Toast is a big fan of long walks and has a blast taking in all the sights, sounds, and smells of the great outdoors. He is well-mannered on a leash and responds to the commands off, wait, and sit. Toast is FULLY housebroken and crate trained. No need to worry about accidents in the house with this smart doggo around!

Toast barely sheds, rarely barks, and is super friendly toward strangers and other pets. To his own humans, Toast is a total lover. You can touch him anywhere, he shares well with others, he responds to correction, he’s eager to please, he’s highly curious, he’s very confident, and he’s extremely kind. What more can you ask for?

More about this rescue

PupStarz Rescue is an animal welfare group committed to the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs and cats in public shelters at high risk of euthanasia, as well as those in danger of abuse. We are committed to rescuing as many animals as possible, saving over 2,600 dogs and cats since 2015.

PupStarz Rescue is a foster-based rescue, relying on fosters to open their homes and lives to our Animals. Animals in our care receive proper medical care, including alteration, vaccinations, and microchipping.

Following a thorough screening, our animals are placed in loving, responsible, committed forever homes. PupStarz Rescue ensures that adoptions are an appropriate match for both the animal and their new family by educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a furry companion into their lives.

We are committed to the welfare of our "Starz" beyond the adoption process. We maintain open communication with our adopters to ensure a smooth transition, and offer additional support such as positive training techniques.

Founded in 2015, PupStarz Rescue is a non-profit, 501(c)3, no-kill, animal rescue organization.
