My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hermione
Beautiful Hermione and her gorgeous sisters Dazzle and Misty are safe with us. Life has not
been kind to Hermione and her sisters, until now. Safe at our no-kill shelter, these girls are
experiencing love and kindness for what may be the first time.
Hermione and her sisters were left to fend for themselves at a very young age. With no mama
mentioned, these pups were starved and nothing but skin and bones. They are still so scared
and uncertain. Life has been unkind. Tiny and alone, they experienced no love, or safety and
protection. Hermione has such a sweet and gentle personality. Every day she gets a bit braver.
She has zero aggression, she just cowers. After sitting with her for awhile she’ll begin to open
up, but it takes calm movements, kind words and patience.
Hermione is thought to be a cattle dog mix. She is about six months. Our vet thinks she’ll be on
the small size at no more than 35 lbs. She is quiet and watchful. We hope with time that she’ll
be confident enough to be a carefree and silly puppy. Hermione seems to like dogs. She loves
her sisters and they take great comfort in each other. She would probably do well with another
friendly, calm and easy-going dog in the home. A fenced yard will be important to allow her the
freedom to play and run safely.
Hermione will do well with a patient and gentle family. She may do better with older children, not
because she’ll bite or knock them down, but because she needs time to feel comfortable. She
can get scared easily with things she doesn’t understand.
Hermione is going to be a great dog. Being in a home where she feels safe and loved will be the
best medicine for her. Perhaps you’ll be the one help her into her loving future.

Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No Kill shelter in the North Georgia mountains
in Sautee Nacoochee. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Our adoptable
pets are primarily owner relinquished and also rescued from area Animal Controls and kill
shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
