This helps Heaven Can Wait Animal Haven with pet care costs.
Looking for a sweetheart? You've found him! Whiskers wants to be your best friend! This loving, handsome hunk is good with other cats, dogs, and anyone he meets. He loves his scratching post, catnip, and treats. He will often chat with you and roll over for belly rubs. He gets so excited for some lovin’ that he gets a bit squirmy while being held, but will be so happy that'll make biscuits in the air.
Under no circumstances should Whiskers be an outdoor cat (not even for part time) due to his FIV status and his severe flea allergy. This boy deserves to be in a loving home forever!
He is FIV+. FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) cannot be transmitted to humans or other non cat animals. FIV+ cats can live in harmony with other FIV- cats and live long, healthy lives! He has been living with other FIV- cats and has never had a problem! The virus itself is very fragile and can only live outside the body for a few seconds. Modern studies suggest that transmission can only occur through serious physical altercation where blood is transmitted between two cats. He is very gentle with his cat friends! Most serious cat fights where FIV is transmitted, occur due to unneutered cats competing for resources outside. If their basic needs are met with food, shelter, litter, and water, they should live in harmony.
