My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pop Tart. This special girl is 1yr old and she spent the first year of her life sleeping in a dumpster. Pop Tart is also deaf but that doesn’t stop her from playing and loving getting pets. She will need a calm home with someone who will be patient and understanding of her disability. She loves to lounge most of the day. She is hesitant with dogs but will most likely be ok with a male cat. Pop tart is spayed and up to date on all vaccinations. Please contact her foster Jen with any questions 631 260 6142 or come see me at PetSense in Leland.

More about this rescue

We are an entirely volunteer adoption outreach program for New Hanover and Brunswick County Animal Controls. We seek to increase their adoptions by bringing animals off site directly to potential adopters. We concentrate on the animals that have run out of time or have special needs. We move them to a safe haven with private citizens, strive to provide them with every veterinary or behavioral need and then we find them a forever home. We also try to educate about the plight of homeless animals in our community and about the necessity for spaying and neutering. We have recently opened a spay and neuter clinic in Winnabow, NC.
