My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bonnie is an all-around happy girl! Bonnie loves to meet new people and other dogs; she has never met a stranger, and thinks everyone is her new best friend. So watch out; she thinks every lap is meant for her! Bonnie is a small gal with a lot of love to give!!

Another dog to play with is exactly what Bonnie is looking for!! A fenced yard would be an added bonus but not a neccessity.  Bonnie would love to be in a home with an active family where she could be outside a lot. She would really like a 5ft+ solid fenced yard to run. Bonnie is house trained but not a fan of a crate. She is much happier sleeping with her people at night.

She doesn't really fancy playing around with toys, and would rather be curled up on the sofa beside you; that makes her very happy. Bonnie would love someone who works from home/home most of the time, so she could be the center of attention. She does have some separation anxiety, so even more reason to take her with you! Plus, when you are out and about, she is good on a leash and well behaved. She will definitely turn a lot of heads, because she is super cute!

She does have a bit of a wild side and loves to use her voice when she is excited. She wouldn't be a perfect fit for apartment or condo for these reasons. Bonnie loves to ride in the car and would love to go with you on a trip!  She would make a great camping/hiking buddy as she loves to exercise.

We don't know how little Bonnie is around cats as she hasn't had an opportunity to meet them. She is good with children but will need to be in a home with older children due to size/energy/playfulness.

As part of Bonnie’s $300 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on  vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Bonnie, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

1. Review the description of the pet you are interested in to make sure that the information we have fits with your particular needs and desires. In most cases, the information on the website is current and gives the information that we have about the particular pet. The picture of the pet does not tell the whole story.

2. Complete the adoption application. Please make sure that you give us as much information about yourself as you can. List all animals currently living with you including other dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and rodents. The application needs to be complete in order to help us determine if the pet you have chosen is a good match for your home. http://pawsforlifenc.org/pet-adoptions/apply-for-adoption/

3. Once the application is submitted we will contact you, your references, and your vet.

4. We require a home visit prior to dog adoptions.

5. If more than one person applies, we will go with the BEST fit. If all things are equal, we go in the order the applications were received.

6. Once the home visit has been completed, you will be asked to complete an adoption agreement.

7. An adoption fee of $275 for dogs under 6 months $250 for 6 months and older and $95 for cats, Senior Cats $50. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care and other needs for the pets while in foster care.

8. All Paws For Life pets are spayed or neutered if old enough, current on shots, micro chipped, and to our knowledge, in good health before they are adopted out. Puppies under 6 months of age will require a $100 spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee and a special puppy spay/neuter agreement. We are all volunteers and receive no monetary compensation for our work with the pets. The adoption fee is used to help defray costs in the rescue and care of the pets.

9. Congratulations! You are on your way to having your new companion. We hope that you and your new companion share a life of love and happiness. We welcome any comments you may wish to give us about your pet at any time.
