My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Poe, a charming, smiley pup born around 1/25/22, rescued at 2 months from a Louisiana junkyard. Sadly, his family faced hardship, leading to homelessness. To avoid a high-kill shelter, a Texas foster stepped in as we seek his forever home. He is SO sweet, he just wants to cuddle with his people and give kisses! He is perfectly happy as long as he's next to his humans!

Poe is both house and crate trained, though he pulls a bit on the leash due to his eagerness to explore (easy to fix). He's fantastic with dogs (even cuddles with them in the same dog bed), curious about cats (he's just playful, but doesn't show any interest in hurting them), and adaptable as a single pet or with dog siblings. While good with children, we suggest kids ages 10 or older due to his playful nature and tendency to jump on you out of excitement. Poe is an active, sweet boy who adores bones, snuggling, and knows the command "sit." Plus, he's not bothered by a rumba vacuum—quite the lively and lovable companion! He's a truly special guy and oh so sweet!!

I mean... do you see that SMILE? Someone give this adorable, smiley boy his furever home, he so deserves it!

DISCLAIMER- Breed type is determined based on general appearance and behavioral characteristics and cannot be guaranteed unless DNA test results or AKC registration were provided at intake.

***MOST OF OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN TEXAS, BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Read below for more information.

Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Pep's Pals Rescue direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc).

Our adoption fee is $350 plus health certificate and transport (varies by location). This fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, microchip (additional $12.99 registration fee required at time of adoption), fecal analysis, spay/neuter for dogs 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a health certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of transport.

More about this rescue

Pep's Pals Rescue is committed to rescuing shelter dogs and street dogs and finding them forever homes. All dogs deserve to live their lives showered with the love they deserve.
Pep's Pals is named after Pepper, a lab who gave so much love to the founder of Pep's Pals and her family. We carry on his legacy by loving and caring for the dogs who need to know what it is like to be a part of a family. Pepper was kind to every human and fur friend he met. We believe that's how Pepper would want us to carry out our mission.
